Helping children, families and their communities in Haiti

Please Note: this site is currently under construction.

In 2010 a devastating 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck the island nation of Haiti. Over 300,000 lives were lost, 250,000 residences and 40,000 businesses were destroyed. The aftermath was overwhelming for the small island nation. Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere and was already struggling from a weak economy, poor infrastructure and trying to recover from previous hurricanes and tropical storms.

Faith & Love In Action (FLA) did not escape unscathed from the devastating earthquake. By the grace of God the orphanages in Jacmel received very little damage. The children were terrified, but no one was harmed. Unfortunately, the school and church in Marbial did not escape the destructive power of the earthquake. There were no injuries as there was no one in the school and church at the time of the quake. However, the earthquake took a major toll on the buildings. As you can see below the existing school / church was devastated. The foundation on one side of the building failed and the wall above crumbled to pieces. We had to help the children and families of Marbial recover. See below our efforts to help the community of Marbial.
